My Mom
She's the sparkle on the ocean
in the sunny summer's light
She's the diamonds on the snow
on a moonlit winter's night
She's the calm of the morning
before the world has come alight
She's as gentle as a breeze
on the quiet beach at night
She's the backbone of our family
for as far back as I recall
She's always patient, always cares
and always loves, most of all
She's so strong in her beliefs
as she's taught her girls to be
She's tough when there's a need
but it's gentleness I see
She always wears a smile
as though nothing makes her mad
She has a special giggle
how can anyone stay sad?
She's the closest thing to perfect
that I will ever see
If I live to be a hundred
I will never be like "SHE"
