My Mindful Mother
My mother is thoughtful,
Mindful of all my needs;
With love and care for me,
Showing me her good deeds.
Hearing my cry in crib,
She will come running;
Holding me so softly,
As she dances with humming.
As I feel her loving arms,
And her warm embrace too;
I am truly safe and sound,
Keeping me cool in her view.
At times I smile in my sleep,
Knowing that she's on my side;
Awakened, trying to get off my crib,
She will take me to a joy ride.
As I crawl across the floor,
Grasping anything around;
My mother is on guard,
Aware of harm on the ground.
Learning to stand and walk,
She guides me all the way;
Always alert from the start
Till the end of each day.
She begins the day with a smile,
With joy before the task and after;
I won't forget in my lifetime
My ever mindful mother.
