My Little Wish For Poetry Soup
Too many poets, and so little time
Yet joined together, in this world of rhyme
A little peek here, a little peek there
We surely touch lives, as our souls we bare
It shouldn’t matter, the country or race
Or that all we see, is each other’s face
What matters are words, that capture our dreams
They do grace our souls, the world better seems
Words that can touch, are the words that can heal
Words that embrace, make us able to feel
This place gives solace, this place gives a smile
When the world is cruel, this place is worthwhile
There are some problems, we aren’t divine
But friendships formed are so precious, so fine
I come to escape, I come here to grow
You touch my poor heart, much more than you know
Let’s guard this place; put around it a hedge
Be kind to each other, make this our pledge
Poet dreamers, we all seek the ideal
So please strive to love, for that makes life REAL
