My Little Wish For Poetry Soup

Too many poets, and so little time Yet joined together, in this world of rhyme A little peek here, a little peek there We surely touch lives, as our souls we bare It shouldn’t matter, the country or race Or that all we see, is each other’s face What matters are words, that capture our dreams They do grace our souls, the world better seems Words that can touch, are the words that can heal Words that embrace, make us able to feel This place gives solace, this place gives a smile When the world is cruel, this place is worthwhile There are some problems, we aren’t divine But friendships formed are so precious, so fine I come to escape, I come here to grow You touch my poor heart, much more than you know Let’s guard this place; put around it a hedge Be kind to each other, make this our pledge Poet dreamers, we all seek the ideal So please strive to love, for that makes life REAL Eileen Manassian Ghali

This is such a beautiful message of friendship and love that reaches beyond our words, or borders, or different nationalities, and beyond our poems. Just lovely!

One of your flowiest, Eileen! And yes I know that's not a real word ;) I do so agree with the "so little time" reference. I feel a bit neglectful at times when I can't get back with people... I try my best though!

Flowiest....I LIKE IT! You can coin a new word! Well, the superlative is most flowing, but I like this one! :) I've missed ya, and you've neglected me some, but I forgive ya! Isn't that what friends are for??? I haven't been too good lately either....Too busy! Will jump in when the semester is over. Hugs!

PS is the rare exception where words are actually louder than actions. Go fig. There is a very nice ring of truth to this. Very, very well done, Eileen.

forgotten words from previous message... I really like the line "Poems grace our souls...." although, I may have phrased it "WORDS instead of poems"--all a matter of semantics! Your thoughts are gracious and altruistic...a good way to start a week!

Awwwwwww This is a little beauty Eileen, you are so right, true true true. I think mostly it's misunderstandings and it's easy to get carried away on the keyboard. Oh you're not trying to open another one of those discussions are you. All food for thought though. Take care, Richard

I try to critique in private emails, and praise in public...time consuming, but it is my small effort to encourage.....maybe someone else has a better plan?

Well this is a mighty little write indeedy Eleen, I must say..where do we stop helping and start causing pain to others?? do we realise?? I know I do it intentionally..? unintentionally.." or is it just conceit to think that ( i know that)..who knows, maybe words just seem harsh when they are true, I have heard alcholics need to reaise they are such before improvement starts..who suggests this.? are the popular..? maybe after.?,,?????

Joe--is there a reason that humiliation must be done in public? Can't you take the time to send a private email for vitriol? Just a thought.

Hi Joe....unintentional hurt is easily forgiven...intentional hurt is harder to forgive. Premeditated hurt.....is the worst kind. I must admit, it does make us stronger, but...that's a lesson I would gladly skip. Hurt from a friend brings healing. If you have time, Read my poem Wounds of a Friend. Yes....the first step is always to admit. I've had friends wound me because they wanted me to grow and mature. It hurt, but it helped. Thanks for the post!
