My Life As a Cloud

I’m left alone every day of my life,
Alone and ignored and forgotten.
I walk at night unseen by all,
Then sleep all day in a coffin.
My coffin’s velvet red, a beautiful box,
Mysterious, enigmatic, obscure.
And my clothes are all wispy, elegant and full,
And I come across all deft and demure.
Some folks see me for the who that is me,
But most are caught up in their life.
Believing the stories said by folks out of fear,
Believing I carry a knife.
You see, I was once an ordinary guy,
A family, a dog, and a house.
Then I just got sick and died one day,
Now I miss my kids and my spouse.
That’s my lot, my myth, my little short rhyme,
My story of the nothing I am.
My life as a visitor, an apparitioned up spirit,
My life as a ghostly hologram.
