My Journey To the Poem City

MY JOURNEY TO THE POEM CITY! ………………… WHY I QUIT SINGING FOR POETRY!! I HAVE LOVED THE PEN FOR LONG!! EVEN THOSE DAYS; WHEN YOUNG!! IT ALL STARTED BY MY TONGUE!! THAT LOVES COMPOSING SONGS. I HAVE IMPRESSED, BOTH OLD AND YOUNG! WITH, ALL MY WRITTEN SONGS. BUT, MY GROWTH IN MUSIC! WAS STOPPED, BY SHY PHYSIQUE! I KNEW; I WASN’T BOLD! COS FACING CROWD; I WOULD RUN COLD! BUT I SAID; MY THOUGHTS WONT BE SOLD! SO, I WROTE ON, BUT KEPT THEM IN FOLDS. ONE POETRY MANUAL CAME AS GIFT! WHICH, GAVE ME AN UPLIFT! I TRIED REMOLDING SONGS!! BUT WASN’T EASY; FOR TIME LONG!! ‘’JUNGLE JUSTICE’’ WAS THE POEM, THAT LED ME INTO THIS PATH! WHILE ‘’ABIKU’’ WAS MY FIRST, THAT I TRIED, FROM THIS IMPACT! WRITING TO ME, IS NOW FUN! COS ON ANY SUBJECT; I SHINE LIKE SUN! WORD SELECTION; IS MY RUN! COS FROM SONG; I WAS BORN!

Enjoyed reading your excellent poetry today and hope to be back soon to read more Adelaja. This time of year we all are so busy and I for one don't have a lot of time right now but I will try. I love reading the poetry of the many talented poets here at the Soup. Hope to be reading your poetry for many more years to come. Thank you for sharing your poetry with us and may you always find the inspiration to continue with your writing endeavors whatever they may be. Love, Carol

WRITE ON!! Lyricists ARE poets. My favorite English teacher EVER, Ms Mills who was no doubt a goddess, used to give us high schoolers extra credit for memorizing classical poetry if we sang it to her rather than merely reciting it. Very nice to see ya 'round, adelaja, namaste~N
