My Heart's Confession

Put upon the stand I swore to speak the truth My very first court session With this session, I began my confession A hundred eyes were focused on me My eyes avoided only yours Shame turned to feelings of aggression. Feelings of aggression, this is my confession The room was silent, everybody listened As I began to tell my tale I spoke of my heart’s regression Feelings of regression, this is my confession In tears I called your name I just wanted you to feel the same I craved you, my secret obsession Feelings of obsession, this is my confession Heartlessly they took me away The charge: loving you after love’s decay As you left, unmoved I learnt love’s lesson Love’s lesson: I shouldn’t have shared my heart’s confession.
