My Heart In Beating Should Refrain
When the moon at midnight breaks
My heart is sorrow aches
Tis like the depths of dismal sea
Where dismal runs the memory
Memory like a shadow cast
On epic portions of the past
There my dreams awake again
Dreams that never end
Dreams of sorrow and of woe
Dreams of midnight’s darkest tow
There the shadows linger on
As the echo’s of a song
Song like shadow how it sings
Sweet the misery that it brings
And if a doleful hour should be cast
To frame for me the very past
My heart in beating should refrain
Lest the moment is lived again!
