My Heart Gently Weeps
My Heart Gently Weeps
As this year draws
to its end, this feeling of // melancholy sweeps me
by surprise. Images of acquaintances \\ and cousins I lost this year
grinning at me. Depictions of lovers, // friends, my Mama, my brother, my
niece I lost in the last two years \\ beaming at me. Clear images of
my Papa and Mommy, the one // who raised me and others,
who were very closed to me \\ I lost in the past are
smiling at me. Some are dead, // some
left. In remembering \\ them,
my heart // gently
weeps.
