My Head Right Now

So many thoughts in my head right now Trying to make sense of it, but how? It's crazy to me how life is connected What I do here, Some girl in China probably effected In an age where we value money over health It's amazing some live long enough to enjoy wealth Clothing, real food and equal rights They should grow from the ground Bait politics with dollar bills NOW it's time to fight They want water, They want gas, They want land, They want anything with mass What once was free They'll treat from disease After it's been processed and whatever else Then we'll feel it's worth working for Somehow we waved our freedom out the door The importance of education before raising kids They tell couples they should wait until marriage You'll do it whether you're married or not, Who are they trying to kid? This is why the single mother needs to work long hours What happens to her kid is beyond her power She trusts someone to help Truth is, Hard to trust anyone but yourself Once that kid is in hand The dirt that always ran through your hand Is no longer your land It's about those 10 fingers and toes You gotta swallow all you life's woes So they can grow up to make you proud. Improve the world best way they know how For that child When you go shop Is this a place you want them to obtain a job? Where a shirt with the stores name? Or would you feel bad for them, a little shame Then put that dollar away Walk the extra block or two Skip the extra day at the cafe And give it to the ones that would bend over backward Where you spend you money You gotta think about all the factors If you don't want to take the time That's your choice, It's fine If you want to complaint Just talk in someone else' ear, Not mine.

I have been reading your poems as I am able. There was a progression of my perception of you. It went from seeing a girl who was getting out frustration in a clever way, with changes of pace, unexpected lines, and near or no rhymes. It seemed random which was nice, to wonder what I would be reading. I now see you as a messenger with a very important message, exploring new ways to express that message through poetry. I do really enjoy your work.

I often have blamed philosophy on the randomness of my writing or on the no poetic value of some things that I wrote before, and know it must seep into my comments. What I mean is that I really am no judge of poetry, although I have learned much in my seven or so months here. Your work is truly inspirational on many levels, morally, emotionally, and for me even artistically. Keep writing
