My Greatest Fear

"The only thing I am afraid of is fear . . . " Arthur Wellesley, 1831 ______________ Though young, I fly on wings of time- Life a parenthesis sublime. Haunted, I fear death, taking my last breathe. All fear death, the last chime. On the ragged edge of this life- Will I be full of dread and strife? Oh, daunting suspense! Is Heaven immense? When past tense, gone from life. Will my beloved be above? Will I see my child and true love? Are my pets waiting? Oh, a thought aching, that nothing, is above! _____________________ September 29, 2016 Verse/My Greatest Fear Copyright Protected, ID 834437 Entered in the contest, Your Worst Fear, Sponsor, Lewis Raynes Second Place

Beautiful, B. W. If there is nothing, at least it is nothing for all and all for nothing -- but, I think there is ... something. ;-)

...and some only fear spiders. How sad our lives when stricken by horror. How horrific the complex fears it brings. I can only hope and pray that every day (if even as tiny as a grain of salt) some joy slowly filters the doubts that cloud bright rays of light and eventually reveal a sun whole again. Excellent write. A Fav.

I actually died once in hospital, and the vision I saw was beautiful, Like being in a vibrant pool of colours and energy, so I no longer fear death. I don't know about a god but there was a beautiful woman standing in front of me. You are very talented, and inspiring, thank you for that. /|\

Beautiful, yet, haunting, with a splash of wonderment. I really enjoyed this style. It looks like a lot of fun to compose. You seem well refined in your craft.
