My Great Friend
God is my great friend and favorite one
And on Him, I forever do depend upon;
When there is some advice I may need,
With His fine food and knowledge He will feed.
When I pray to God, with Him consult;
End will always be a successful result;
I often do talk to Him night and day;
He knows and has right words to say.
God is my conscience and memory,
Like a cloth called by many as emery;
Correct way to rub you always knows
Yet is gentle on both body and clothes.
God is more to me than any other person;
Helps me when I practice and am rehearsing;
Have heard much improvement in my voice;
Now at end of each song I sing I do rejoice.
About God, what I like best of all
Is He picks me up when I sometimes fall;
On Him will never place any blame;
He is the source of my fortune and fame.
