Holding my baby brother for the first time, September 1942

There are so many fondest memories that I've accumulated thru the years; but going back to when I was so young, there's one that I remember most of all. I was an only child till age of three, but then a gift, my baby brother came. Our front door opened, there he was so small, and magically they placed him in my arms. I still remember this as such a thrill... just like my dolly, but so very real, with softest cheeks, a tiny rosebud mouth and cutest booties on his tiny feet. So many years have passed, but that strong bond remains intact now in our winter years. Yet that sweet vision when at first we met, still fills my heart with warmth until this day. Sandra M. (1) I feel exactly the same about my little sister, born when I was 7 so I certainly relate and concur, but (2) you remember things from the age of 3? Wow, I do not, mine begin at 4, 3 - nothing. This is sweet, Sandra, and, again, touches me on a personal level. I struggle with this contest because I cannot pick one memory ... CayCay

Thanks so much for your nice visit, CayCay. Yes, my brother was born one month after I turned three years old. But, even before he was born, I remember walking with my mom and having to look past her big tummy to see the other side of the street! Yes, there are so many fond memories...so hard to choose the 'fondest.' Hugs, Sandra

Absolutely wonderful memory Sandra. Thanks for sharing this special one with us. Love the picture. The look on your little face is priceless. It speaks volumes. I know your brother would love this if you put it on a card with the picture at the top and present it to him as a special gift. God Bless and Merry Cheristmas. A big 777 from me. JB

Thank you so much for your supportive comments, Judy! Actually, when my brother turned 70 four years ago, I included two pictures in a double photo frame: the one above of me holding him and another taken recently then of the two of us. He loves it! Thanks for the nice rating, and I am wishing you a Blessed Christmas too! Hugs, Sandra
