My First Poetry Reading
My parents had locked the keys in the car.
I thought to my self it would not be far.
I forced myself through the wind and the rain.
Which only purpose seemed to be my pain.
The rain focused on attacking my head.
When I had returned my ears were blood red.
We headed off on the brightly lit street.
To look for the place I wrote on my sheet.
We drove and we drove past many street signs,
The light from the glare burned pain in our eyes.
At last we had found our way to the place,
But the time on the clock saddened my face.
I had fought with fate and ended up late.
I sat on the floor right next to the door.
I heard on the ground a beautiful sound.
This, was well worth it.
