My Feet Show It
Some poets rhyme, some poets don't
I prefer to write in rhyme
A personal choice I've had from the start
Quatrains are where I shine
Tried some others, they're not for me
Just a simple kind of a poet
There's a rhyme that's been around forever
With the words “my feet show it!”
No Henry Wadsworth Longfellow am I
But in my own inimitable way
Manage to post some worthwhile poems
That merit perusal each day
Ever since discovering Poetry Soup
Rhymes buzz around in my head
Been thinking of joining Poets Anonymous
But this addiction is nothing to dread
Who knows, maybe one day I'll be famous
Everyone will know my name
They'll carve my image on old Mount Rushmore
A symbol of worldwide fame
Dream on my man, you're quite delusional
Been into the sauce for sure
Best that you go and lie down for a while
Till you're thinking rational once more
