My Father of Shadows and Lines
My father’s a memory of shadows and lines
In black and white photos his smiling face shines
A man in a war
With a family of four
And just another victim of his times
The year was 1951
He left behind three girls – one son
A pilot and plane
Nothing left but his name
And I’m left with no memories to come
As I sit and write these lines
I think of him and my heart pines
I was just four
When he was no more
My father’s just a memory of shadows and lines.
