My Every Day
Tell me could you feel the danger in the air,
Could you feel its mist upon your skin?
I tried to put it all back into perspective,
Old demons come back to visit me every now and again.
I don’t want to be labelled that I’m anything special,
Things like that don’t interest me at all.
I know you understand what makes me, who I am,
That I always get back up when I take a fall.
I don’t know how you have the strength to stay.
When my words and thoughts sometimes fall away.
What you see in me I just can’t place.
Your love is always right there, and I’m always amazed.
Did you know that your everything in life that I got.
Giving my heart up so easily is something I was never taught.
Honey you’re all my strength,
Baby you’re my every day.
I once told you that I wasn’t the man you were searching for,
Like the one from a story book fable.
With frustration I tried to tell you so many times,
Until I seen our tears mix together on the table.
I realized then you knew I would work my hands to the bone,
It wouldn’t matter if it was my last breath.
Commercial things never mattered it was love that filled our home,
A love and strength to continue long surpassing death.
I don’t know how you have the strength to stay.
When my words and thoughts sometimes fall away.
What you see in me I just can’t place.
Your love is always right there, and I’m always amazed.
Did you know that you everything in life that I got.
Giving my heart up so easily is something I was never taught.
Honey you’re all my strength,
Baby you’re my every day.
