My Diamond In the Sky

An Anacreontic Verse A diamond apple red - darts and twirls beyond the string I guide above my head. Above the harbor now she flees climbing with the breeze. She swoops, then makes a crazy loop. I follow beneath her streaming tail as rising up, she chases a boat with billowed sail. The sun behind her casts a crimson light. How she glows, pursuing masts till she abruptly slows. Now wind blows cold. My diamond bold who fancied herself free but then forgot who held her string - curtailed in flight - now draws near to me! 11/7/15 for the contest of Edward Ebbs

Very creative. I have read others and I must be the only one who thought it had to be a celebration poem - on love, national celebrations, holidays and festivities. This is a fancy visualization of a surreal and delightful outside scene that I enjoyed very much, so to the one holding the kite - so happily smiling. CayCay

No Contest AD . Winner's enclosure for sure. You got the wind in your sail and descriptive eloquence sublime ; no strings attached ! Still have no idea what Rihanna was trying to sing/wail about ! You have captured the total essence and true meaning of "go fly a kite" . In the words 007 " Diamonds Are Forever " .. MoneyPenny U da Best ..
