Lurking in the confines of her lair she awaits me - her prey
Opening the door she smiles and invites me in
I sit down and she prods my veins,
Her eyes sparkle, I can see she is craving my blood
I wince as she tightens the tourniquet but there is no stopping her now
Her hand quivers as she plunges the syringe deep into my arm
Moments later it is all over and I leave the doctor’s surgery
A massive smile is on my lips
I have suffered from needle phobia for many years
This is the fourth blood test I’ve had with no adverse reaction
My fear of the vampire nurse is now vanquished
A true story from my fasting blood test today
It was such a success I gave the nurse the bar of chocolate I was going to eat after my test was over
