My Dad

MY DAD Henry F. Welch October 29, 1918-March 20, 1995 by Robert Welch March, 2016 It was a cold and rainy day, The day my father died. But rain was nothing As compared to all the tears I cried. I could not be near him As I was far away, But thoughts filled my mind, and with words I could not say. Memories of days gone by, Of happy times indeed. Of his strong hand to help me, And when I were in need. His wisdom and his love; Very much a part of me As I grew older I leaned on him For times that were to be. Now he’s gone to Heaven, And forever to be missed But soon to be reunited, That is my biggest wish. He was my Dad; my Pop; my friend, Through all those many years. And now I miss him so As shown through all my tears. Our love will carry us beyond These times that are so sad, One day I’ll see him again, And say “hello” to my Dad.
