My Cold Distance
In between me and love's folly
Does lie a vast ocean so blue
In between me and love's folly
Do be waves, out of which none would ever get through
Why, distance does me so much good
Now, though I do be weird for the world
I do be prude
I do be rejuvenated
Distance does keep me calm and soothed
Distance does be what I needed
For love’s folly was so overwhelming
So much that imbibed with it, life itself seemed to be distorted
Why, between our shores
Battling do be the blue oceans
They seem to tell me that I’m to remain all sore
For only by being thus, shall I get to enjoy the skies’ horizons
Why distance does be there in my heart,
Distance which allows me to keep myself safe
Distance which allows me to be imbibed in mine own faith
Distance which I have transformed into my own fort
Pray, mind you, see me not as a cruel person
Of course, I shall give the world my sympathy, even my helping hand
But then, from life itself, shall I maintain a safe distance
Yes, for I feel better thus, encaged in between my border’s fence!
