My Closet Door

what answers do you need to calm your curiosity do you so doubt the truth of our first kiss have you watched so long that you no longer see me what secrets did you think i could hide you alone have undressed me to bare flesh is it my collection of unpolished shoes memories of footsteps taken to life’s doorways do you think i will not stand by you forever when every second of my being has brought me to your side what puzzles to life’s mysteries will be answered on hangers and photograph albums costumes of life…trinkets and tuxedos images created in a world needing its own reflection mirror snapshots of strangers smiling for strangers is it my hat boxes with no names holding testimonials of who I was to be that you desperately need to renounce out loud i recall moments when your soft breathing inside of me was the only sound needed to tell the world we were one were you looking for a suitcase packed with excuses fearing sunrise without our gentleness to explore we have crossed the world’s longitudes and latitudes Rio to Monterrey…Brisbane to Berlin…passion dusk to dawn all of my dreams shared in your arms we have always quenched each other’s unquenchable thirst passion flows through us like a river of raindrops i love you with all that I am…all that I ever wanted to be i have sought nothing more than your trust in me we are…one within each other’s hourglass…come to me please don’t open my closet door IRISH
