I think it is important for poets to support poets. This is so easy it is just a little time and I promise you will be glad you visited.

They pointed their fingers...that's what people do... ...      they point their fingers...without ever trying on your shoes. They pointed their fingers at her...she walked  with perfect posture...there is no cost...they do not charge even a nickel for form in your stride... ...     I know because if it cost a dime...she didn't have  a spare one of those...she worked hard at her job...when she gave up her child...they...you know they. It was all explained in the sixties when someone asked "who are THEY anyways?" ...      When she gave up her child...they pointed their fingers at her... they talked in little huddles...spoke poorly...of her,  without ever trying on her shoes. ...     every second Friday she would line up for her wages...meager as they were...it had to be divided...a faithful daughter's burden, sending money home...home is an ocean away...home was never a home at all. ...      No one asked me about her pain...they didn't care...they were too busy pointing...she didn't hurt because she was hungry...not because she had nothing, I told you, her posture was perfect... she always held her head high. ...     I wished someone would of asked me...asked me  why she gave up her child...she told me... ...she gave up her child because she could no longer... she could no longer bear...bear to hear her child cry from hunger. 30/09/2014

You sell tissues? You had me with this one Maurice, simply beautiful and heartwarming. I always say, "walk amile in the other mans shoes, that way if hes mad at you, you are a mile away and you have his shoes"

Well done Maurice for a great poem with an excellent topic; giving up children must be heartbreaking, but many are compelled to do so for various valid reasons. It is not for us to judge....we are not in their shoes. // paul

So beautiful Maurice. It is so sad that we open our mouths instead of our hearts.

wow, my friend, this is indeed touching. Just as Lliam has said. Probably one of your most touching poems to date. I just love the conclusion of this one. A mother who loves her children will truly want the best for them, and in this case it meant to give them up. I want to visit this blog of Cas, but I only have 9 min. left to be here and tons of comments to get to. I will try to see what you are talking about later!!

I can't watch the news these days without crying, but I broker those tears into the strength to offer my hands arms and shoulders to others. I do believe God guides us.

This write is based on several families who were having financial problems that I have chosen to help rather than to give to charities and diluting the effect of every dollar. My help nets one dollar of help for every dollar I spend. No one has had to give up a child. That inspiration came from CNN heroes an international news cable show. I help them by paying 20 dollars an hour rather than 10.50 cents an hour that way they walk out with their dignity in hand. I feel blessed that God has given me the opportunity to do this.
