My Bride
She’s someone I can count on -
my rock - and that’s for sure.
My best friend - my confidant -
she makes me feel secure.
She’s the mother of my children,
her cooking is the best.
She keeps our home neat and clean
of this I will attest.
She comes from Bonnie Scotland
where I met her years ago.
We’re married over fifty years,
how she has managed I don’t know!
Despite all my deficiencies
she stays right by my side
She keeps me level headed
when things begin to slide.
When I cause a major crisis
she has a lot to say
But if it’s something minor
she’ll look the other way
.
There are those times we have a spat -
we don’t see things the same
But we don’t stay mad all that long,
no matter who’s to blame.
She has so many attributes
of which I could confide
but I'll just say that I've been blessed
since she became My Bride!
