My Boys

My Boys Your mother, I am, forever and always ! I love you both forever and in all ways ! I have been, both mother and father ! I have been there, to nurse your wounds, both physical and psychological ! I have been there, in your times of sorrow, to kiss away all the pain you were feeling. I have kept a roof over your heads !, long after you should have left the nest. I have kept food in your stomachs. I have, long after you should have been self-sufficient, paid for your entertainment ( phones, cable, internet ). I have ended up paying for your cars, car insurance ! As men who should be taking responsibility for yourselves, I should no longer have to sacrifice my financial freedom, in order to help you as I have – financing your businesses, paying off the debts you incurred doing business. After they failed, I lost my financial security, and to this day !, I have never been able to recover ! The list goes on and on my dear sons and so, where do we go ? As men, it is time to let go of my apron strings ! As a woman, with grown children, it is time !, time for me to stand up and take off the apron no matter ( for all of us ) how much it stings. It seems to me, you, as middle aged men, I am still being a slave to motherhood ! It is time for us to let go of past expectations and move on and look after our own needs !!! Your Mother !!! B. Dear Jadazzle united : I am sorry that I have not gotten back to you sooner. Just looked at my sight and saw your additional comments . How true that many of us “ Sadly Bill I have seen it all too often. ” have witnessed such things. There is just no telling Jadazzle, - as new parents - the mentality and personality that will come forth from the children we bring upon this earth, no matter how hard we try to make responsible, considerate, compassionate human beings out of them. I guess that nurturing has less effect on the outcome our children as does their nature. Anyway my Dear, most of us do the best we can with what was handed down to us ( heritage, nature, nurturing and the conscious desire to change what was wrong foe us . B. J. “A ” 2 ( Bill . )

Sadly Bill I have seen it all too often. I will help my son out all I can - hes at uni now but will not go into debt to fund his lifestyle - he worked and saved for a year before he went. I have friends who still pay their child's car insurance buy them cars etc and then struggle financially when the kids are more than able to do it for themselves - far easier to go to bank of mum and dad. Have had to make my own way in life so believe me I know the value of money and if i cant afford it I save until I can - no credit card for me. hugs Jan xxx

Hello Jadazzle : Thank you for stopping by Jadazzle, and for your understanding and comments. “ Hppe things get better for you Bill ” fortunately Jadazzle, the issues I have had to deal with, with my Girls, have long become history and where of a different essence, as you could discover in much of my stuff on poerysoup . I composed this for my friend Dianne. It is her life’s story and I do hope that she will give her sons ( who are oblivious or in denial of all she has done / is still doing for them ) the copies I am providing her with . “ we can all learn a lesson from this poem ”, god !!!, I hope that, that is not the case, for I would hope that, that is not the experience for many. I have read some of you poetry and find that “ Sleeping beauty ” fascinated me, as a helpless, hopeless romantic . “ Hugs jan xxx ” and back at you my Dear . B. J. “A” 2 ( Bill . )

Buenas noches Pandita Sanchez : Thank you for stopping by Pandita, and for your glowing praise. I composed this for my friend Dianne. It is her life’s story and I do hope that she will give her sons ( who are oblivious or in denial of all she has done / is still doing for them ) the copies I am providing her with . It has been tough enough being a black woman in a white society without sons to add insult to injury . I have read some of your poetry and “ A Past Life – The Mayan Warrior Princess ” caught my attention, on many levels, but mostly because I come from native stock as well and my cousin – four generations removed – was one of Canada’s most famous poets, poetess ( E Pauline Johnson ) . “ Warmest regards. ” to you Pandita Sanchez, and bendiciones, Dios te/le bendiga .
