My Affection

My affection smiles at me And I think I’ll never forget it My affection draws me close And I know I’ll never want to part with that warmth My affection whispers in my ear And I feel I’ll never forget how those words are said to me My affection laughs And I’m certain I want to always hear that sound My affection looks into my eyes And it’s obvious that even though I get scared sometimes, he sees me My affection speaks to me And there is so doubt the words uplift me To my affection I want to say, you are beautiful To my affection I want to say, from my heart I love you To my affection I want to say, just thinking about you makes me smile To my affection I want to say, I’m amazed by your caring character To my affection I want to say, thank you for the way you make me feel To my affection I want to say, do you know how amazing you are My affection I want to say I wish I was as bold as you So I could speak what lies in my heart Tell you how beautiful your heart is But here I am Afraid to let go Afraid to open up Holding myself close for fear of falling And I wonder if you’d believe the many firsts you’ve given me To my affection
