Must Use a Kigo - Cueca Chilena Poetry

A haiku, Japanese poetry, must have a season kigo! Can have more but please do read the rules. If you don't use a kigo. Yes, if you don't use a kigo. Then probably it's another form that you have mistook, misclassified! Must have one to make it a haiku!

I enjoyed your post on what a haiku is. It's so many things. For me, the "in the moment" sensory factor is a big must too!

"what", hope that helps? Seriously, (couldn't resist the latter, lol), Lyric Man just making a point, for there is so much out there that have been classified as haiku but are not, causing and expanding on the already extensive confusion. Mick

Indeed a true Japan haiku must follow those rules to say yes it is a haiku, but like most things people move away and bend the rules and reshape it, one thing I've noticed is many do not follow the ( in the moment) theme where its like a photograph of an image but in word form. Tom

That's the way it is Tom and for the sake of repeating myself therein lies a problem. The bending of the rules is perpetuated to the extent that those that don't have the inclination to check them out think that every misclassified haiku is one, and on it goes. It is like pollution, in this instance of a very ancient form of poetry. Mick
