Must Be In the Genes
Well hallelujah, it's another great day
The clouds may be covering the sky
But the sun is shining deep in my soul
No worries, no tears in my eyes
Wish I could tell everybody my secret
Believe me, I sure wouldn't lie
Something to do with inherited genes
Most likely the reason why
Some wake up happy every morning
While others it's doom and gloom
Could it be a matter of mind over matter
Think positive and spirits will zoom
I'm certainly not an expert on the subject
But it always has worked for me
Realized I'm one of the fortunate ones
I'm as lucky as a person can be
Give it a shot, greet the day with a grin
You'll be floating on air, just try
If you greet each day with happiness and joy
Everyone will want to know why
