You offer me sanctuary, though I didn't ask
I don't understand but I greedily grasp
You hold me in comfort no matter my flaws
Slowly I settle, start retracting my claws
I'm the frightened animal, unaccustomed to care
Untamed and flighty, yet you don't need to ensnare
Though I sense danger, I'm drawn to your side
Overwhelmed and uncertain as different worlds collide
Forever changed from wild unfortunate soul
Solitary creature now craves to feel whole
