Muddyshoes
Leave them at the door
with whatever clings to your boots,
walk in your clean socks
Enter Heaven as whatever you imagine it to be
without dread but in promise
There is peace in passing, I know it to be so
as there is comfort in love
I’ve seen the shell of the soul
evil or pure the beast is death, God in Salvation
life are your wings opened or plucked in judgment
scoff each to his own belief or just be dead in the end
the world does not really care -
as there is plenty of dirt and judgment
there is comfort and love, I choose to believe
in compassion, by the reflection of how man treats
one another, I see..., not all of us give life the same value
looking at the mud across the floor, I’ll ask
Could a flower grow in it?
