Mourning In the Morning
Written March 10, 2015
The sun is risen
Its sultry shimmer shines on the ocean
Keeping the moon at bay
Whilst the sound washes off the shore
You arise from your slumber
As a reservoir of lakes flow from your eyes
I've come here once more
For mourning in the morning
At this Buddhist temple in the sand
For meditation in the midst of misting mountaintop waterfalls
Watch them miraculously marvel right before your eyes
Close your eyes now dear
Forget the fleeting taste of fear
You're home now
Time to loosen your chains
And wipe away those tears
You've been crying all these years
Hold your hopes to the window
For all those outside to see
They're fogging up the screen
Of silver where dreams are weaned
Off the teat of the trying and the dying
'Til we're sighing with the lying and flying off the tracks
I've come here once more
For mourning in the morning
At this Buddhist temple in the sand
For meditation in the midst of misting mountaintop waterfalls
Watch them miraculously marvel right before your eyes
