Mountain Road
I have walked along the mountain road
The Summer's warmth greeted me
When the air was crisp from Winter's snow.
I climbed to the peak to better see
The largest valley opened wide
As if to swallow all of me
I lean outward to fall inside
The wind wisps fast against my face
Falling down a mountainside.
The ground grows near to soon erase
my body shakes and then erodes.
I hit the path that I had traced.
And like to say before I grow old
I have walked along the mountain road.
