Mothers Pearls
Mother’s Pearls
Pure pearls bobbling along, huge,
Mum wants me each day to wear,
Dance gear in grandmother’s day,
Conversation here is psychiatrical,
The pearl is a sequence suggestive,
Of society’s progress of modernity:
Even the pearls don’t want to be worn.
