Mother’s Day

I’m not sure what to get you this year, Mum. It’s so unprecedented. I’d usually opt for chocolates or wine, Or a candle maybe, that’s scented. Do you remember that time, years ago, When I made you mint creams at school? But ate them all on the bus ride home, gave an empty packet to you! I felt bad about it and the worst part? I felt so sick, I threw up. But you didn’t mind, you just thanked me and smiled. As you cleaned your own present up! I cant make you a roast dinner. I can’t give you a homemade card. You’ve always been easy to buy for, But this year mum, it’s so hard. I know I could bring you some flowers, But I can’t bear to watch them die. Without your tender loving care, It’s hard for anything to get by. So all I can do is sit here, And think back on all the years, Sorry mum I don’t have a gift for you, Just an endless supply of tears.
