Mothers Advice
When she was but a child in school
she tried to follow every rule.
She always stood up tall and straight
so smart and tidy...they did hate,
and picked upon her none-the-less.
The reasons…she n’er had a guess.
Seems every day they taunted her
but then a thought began to stir…
A pretty little girl was she
as she sat at her mother’s knee.
Her mother said “When they taunt you,
just smile until the taunt is through.
Give them a chance to smile, if not…
give a black eye, to the whole lot!”
