Morning's Caress
Wading through the clouds and waking sun
An early moon unaware her time is done
Smiles lazily on icy stream and lawn
With fields brightening Winter aplomb.
In tandem with sets of twinkling stars
Along the first bright rays of golden bars
There is a peaceful calm and all is still
As daybreak bends for new sunbeam's refill.
While landscape sketches frosty morning air
I see how dawn has braided flowers in her hair
Adorning boughs with scented loveliness
So right and wholesome, my heart feels her caress!
