Morning Treasures
Morning Treasures
By Dane Smith-Johnsen
A hint of golden sun on treetops glows.
One brown leaf floats slowly toward the ground.
Autumn, not yet arrived, stretches her wings.
Sunshine beaming beyond dense trees glows bright.
Thus, giving just a glimpse of life beyond woods.
Reflections of a busy past recalled.
Gratitude rises through the clouds to God.
All-knowing wisdom brought me to this peace.
Tranquil reflections and life with love merge.
As morning awakens, anticipation hopes.
And sorrows that have borne pain dissipate.
Armed with joy, pain no longer has a grip.
The morning light heightened brightens life’s view.
Optimism is born. This day is new.
And at dusk, I shall say adieu, adieu.
