I really liked this and yes, I was able to translate it "almost" perfectly. P.S. I am of Scottish decent. I am a Mc.....

You will of course know that Mc stands for son of. So a McDonald is branch of clan Donald. My name should have actually been Logue, the Irish branch of the family. Logans were themselves a branch of McLelland. My grandfather assumed the name Logan after the Easter uprising in Dublin where, having been sent as a Royal Marine to quell the outbreak, he turned coat and fought for the other side. Wanted for treason, he could hardly return to Scotland under his birth name.

It's Laland (lowland) Scots. It spread out from the Lothian area. The North and West both spoke a form of the Gaelic tongue. This is the language Robert Burns would have spoken.

I wasn't looking at the original as I did the translation, that should still have read "toast so stale." Even without a drink I don't like stale toast.

Sorry I missed you but I am glad you got some enjoyment out of this silliness. I find it helps to not take life seriously, it's far too short for worry.

Almost is the operative word, I also drink relatively small amounts and fairly seldom. That does not mean I don't love a malt whisky now and again (and again).
