Morior
The moonlight seemed a shadow
As he closed his eyes
Remembering perfection
Thinking of the beauty of the stars
That he had never seen
Reflected in the endless seas
Tide over tide
Washing away
The imperfection
Of his eyes
Words
That fell from dew-dropped lips
Like prisms of reality
So clear, diffracting meaning
Into infinite aesthetic
Inside
He still remembers
What he wanted so much then to say
That fateful time
When morning never came
When life gave way
And mirrors in the moonlight
Left his sight yearning for something more
Than silver stares
Bittersweet years
And tears of self-reflection
Into the skies
He speaks the words
That he before had never heard
"O most beautiful, sweet angel of my soul
Seducer into nothingness
A fire amongst the cold of my existence
Endless mirror
Perfect meaning
As I look into your soul
I cannot help but drown
As I feel into your soul
I cannot help but become terrified
As dark Narcissus, staring into his own eyes
Subsumed into the infinite
I find such beauty in this one becoming
Going under
You gave unto my sight
The shadows of the night
You held my breath beneath the wave-crests of your crystal soul
Anew
I rose
From 'neath the sea
Between the shards of broken glass
In fire and ash
I rose
Anew
But you
You made it so real
That I cannot feel you
Anymore"
One single tear diffracts the light
And shatters into ash and flame
In sunrise
Before darkest skies
In open eyes
He sees the stars
He tried so hard
To find
