More Than You Thought

The Petting Zoo was a comfortable home. Still, the little goat felt all-alone. The chicks and sheep had all the luck. The children loved them all so much. The little rabbits were much in demand. But the little goat was left sadly alone, to stand. When she tried to be noticed she was pushed away… It hurt her inside so much that she bit someone, one day. The prima Donna sheep sneered, as they looked her way. You are nothing but a goat… They would always say. And when you’ve seen one goat… You’ve seen them all. Seeing what was happening… The Zoo owner came forth. He put a laurel crown upon the goats little head. He brought her favorite ball, for her to play. Then he waited to see the fun begin that day. Bouncing, having fun, and standing on her ball … She was now seen as the fairest of all, with attention so fair. The Keeper knew that when you are happy a smile will bloom. And with that smile… others will do the same and smile to you. It makes everyone special in THEIR very own way. Remember: You are uniquely your own. You are one in a million… No… one in several million. You are worth more than you thought… Don’t let anyone tell you… you are not.

Goats are such fun and each has a personality Carol. Your sweet poem seems to know that too. It brought back some great memories. I'm sorry to hear of your illnesses, you had to live through them but I really wasn't there and had no knowlege of passing time. I hope you are doing better now and enjoying life. Love, Elizabeth

A wonderful story to tell children to value their own uniqueness and not feel they have to be just like everyone else. A fine job. Good Luck and God Bless, JB
