Moonlight Passion

Taking a blanket they headed for their favourite spot a secluded place in a glade beside the gurgling river this haven was filled with the scent of damask roses and sweet honeysuckle grew rampantly up the trees Laying the fleecy blanket on the soft grassy ground sank down into each others arms with gentle sighs the moonlight was filtering down between the trees lending a sense of romance, oh how they loved it here Slowly. softly they began to caress gently stirring passions their exuberant loving sighs carrying in the still night airs afterwards they would lie spoon shaped, sated by love then slowly they gathered up their blanket with a last kiss Time now to return to their every day life's of the mundane treasuring these stolen hours that added most romantic spice after twenty five years of marriage and raising five children it was these precious moments that renewed their love

Hi Shadow. I hope you're enjoying a nice, relaxing weekend--right lol This poem rocks. Having done the marriage and kids thing, I appreciate what you mean by the mundane. Life does intrude, doesn't it? Tooo bad. Nice to see ya, darlin' ...Mel...:)

That's weird I left a comment yesterday but somehow it has dissapeared. Well let's give it another try. I really like this one because it portrays how passion is not just for the young. For me I have found the years have enhanced lovemaking and desire in ways I could not have imagined. This is a wonderful poem Shadow.

this is so sweet and romantic. I was almost thinking you were going to have it be an illicit tryst. Instead, a delightful true love poem!!

there are times when the rush of life pushes a husband and wife like logs in a raging river...it's then they should seek a shoreline to connect again with their youthful love and give thanks for each other...my thought after enjoying your poem..
