Moon River
Full moon on black leaves ripples in water,
Lending glitter near the river shoals--
Its mediterranean hue brushes on marbles
to shade the landscape with spoonful of expectation
as clumped grains of tears drip on the bay--
where flickering stars keep lonely vigil.
And in the distance, angst-ridden ladies sleep,
while a pier's ladder gradually churns
till boats sail under a keeper-moon,
leading their oarsmen home.
