Moon Goddess
Beautiful Selene.
Can you not fold your wings
and leave the heavens ?
You have done enough.
Watching from your lofty home.
Moving across the stars,
inspiring lovers
with your serene
countenance.
Effecting ebb and flow
in the waters of life.
Can you not still
your power and rest.
Oh to take your place beside
Endymion, your lover.
And lie forever in the written word.
But you are Luna, the moon
personified into divine existence
living in the true world.
