A period of youthful vim ferments as coruscating golden flecks in eyes that mesmerise and tantalise, give rise to secrets in my breast to stir, foment. The xanthous tresses that cascade torment. My eager and impressionable sighs that echo every pirouette and pliés, a fleeting intercession of lament. A maverick when it comes to amour and quintessentially a rakish cad. Unrequited love longstanding rancour, but finally become your paramour. An enigmatic smile ever so sad; your broken heart I gladly give succour.

I'm not complaining, just that if I had commented you might have wondered why it had taken so long.

Not my doing. Poetry Soup sends out e-mails per their own algorithms.

This is great, I also did a Mona Lisa one - think I deleted it off here though as I've entered it in a contest. It's not a patch on yours though!

Glad you visited here. It is like anything else: some days it just clicks ... I am rather proud of 'My Lady Lisa' (the translation from the Old English 'Mona Lisa').

Thanks for honouring me with a 2nd place placement, John. I feel that everything and every combination had already been said (some to the point of becoming clichés), that I feel that if I can't say something new, I might as well be silent. :))

Yes. I've been to the Louvre and was fortunate to go early enough before the tour groups crowded out the view of the the Mona Lisa. It is more beautiful than the reproduction of it in printed media. ??

Now my friend that is a very fine sonnet. One that stirs the brain and the heart in imagery, depth, rhyme and flow. A soul opened and waiting for love and its golden treasures! A fav... God bless..
