For a brief moment, she waits Patiently. Laughter stagnant ~ Paused in crippling depression, Crouching in sunken despair, Imprisoned to this moment Melancholy deeply impaled Withdrawing from isolation Contentment blooms, sorrow lifts In clusters of mere moments.

Thank you. I much prefer shorter poems. I'm happy with how this one turned out. I had a feeling that I wanted to express. I think I managed to capture that feeling in this poem. It's not always a great success.

Another brilliant write Joanna, the wording used draws the reader into the despair, but then you give us a glimmer of hope perhaps, (In clusters of mere moments) wonderful poetry, cheers David

Thank you. I feel that when we feel sadness, we have to trust in the process and patiently wait moment by moment. It can feel beyond our control, then in one mere moment' the darkness can lift. I hope that came across in my poem. Thank you for your comment.
