Missing You
Eye lids heavy
With the troubles of a fresh day.
The blackness of night
gives way to the dark clouds
of another new day.
A dawn tinged red
tired before the sun even rises.
The quilt hugs you
like mother used to do
protecting you
shielding you
until she's whisked away.
By a song on the radio.
A shower will hide the tears
put will not wash away her memory.
and so begins another day.
