Mirror Mirror On the Wall

Mirror mirror on the wall. Why do you insist in all The ugly traits you force on me In features that I rarely see? Mirror mirror on the wall. What gives you the right to call This bulge 'unsightly', that one 'hot'; This color's ghastly, that one's not. Mirror mirror on the wall. I'm not Cindi 'fore her ball I have no fairy goddess wand Nor youth enhancing fountain pond. Mirror mirror on the wall. What tragic fate must I befall Before I cut you down to size And inner beauty's recognized.

Just looking for something to read, Yoni! This is really very good, like looking at Dr. Jekyll in the mirror, at times. An interesting scripture you might want to read in conjunction with this phenomena, is (Gen, 4:6-7) of the mind. Learning how to control the mind, and not letting it control, takes practice. Sincerely Moses

Wonderful, I love this! It really is too bad that inner beauty is way too often over looked in today's society.... Great Write!

Having "inner beauty" is having a gift that last a lifetime, Yoni. It's comforting to know fading youth cannot take this away. (My stepmother lived across the street from the Fountain of Youth. She'll be 95 this May.) Excellent poem, Yoni! Love, Carolyn

Inner Beauty is what really matters.....it's too bad that today's world doesn't seem to encourage that idea. A thoughtful poem! ~ Best wishes, Carrie
