Mine and Mine Alone

Life, my life, my life The precious last waters within the heart of the Sahara To choose would be the true death of me I wish I could do with an Earth’s blink of life My lifetime My greediness overcomes me Yet I thank the almighty God for this haven To burn in hell is worse than A second chance on Earth Oh how I value something that is lost so easily Never comes back to me for a second chance Would you give your lifeline to me if It was possible? The hourglass will never be turned over again for me The blood-stained particles just spill I wish I could cup it And pour it back once again Just once I would not regret Just Once

A profound and beautiful piece. We can't go back, but we can start a new page in our lives, let go of the past and start a new...as of today and that would be enough. Our God, after we ask forgiveness, and make an effort not to return to our past lives, wipes the slate clean and we don't have to be concerned about our past. Just learn from it. Life is tough! Peace, Audrey
