I see a russet sky breaking forth with mimosa clouds trailing along.... ! Love the expression.... 'mimosa' clouds. Do you mean bright orange color or deep yellow? Great poem and a well deserved win, Susan !

'mimosa clouds' refers to clouds intoxicated with champagne light, the golden light of dawn, which brings a blush to the clouds, yes.. a mix of orange and yellow hues, like a champagne mimosa :) Warmest wishes to you, sweet poetess, for a happy new year filled with light, love and inspiration.. ~Susan

Love this, Susan. The whole poem begins to unfurl and whorl, from the beginning, making complete sense of the scene, yet the picture is pale in comparison to your poetic mine set.
