Migrants Tears They tried to shoot me Then rape me Then enslave me I am empty inside Where shall be my refuge? Is there any humanity left in this world? You, with your earthy comforts and peace Why do you fear me? You, who has not seen war, why scorn me? I am you, I AM YOU a human seeking only tranquility Yet you belittle me I am not a terrorist I am terrified of your behavior So I ask you then, who is the terrorist? I, who have suffered so, Shall embrace all lost souls I with nothing, would give my all To comfort any anyone in pain My heart is mine, no one can steal my kindness or smile Even I cower in the shadows Afraid of our times Orphans Fears I am here Crying In the cold I once had a home Now I have only fear Not even a sweater to stop my shivers I wrap myself in old newspaper Do you read the news?

"I am here // Crying // In the cold // I once had a home // Now I have only fear // Not even a sweater to stop my shivers // I wrap myself in old newspaper // Do you read the news? //" That.... exactly, it makes me cry in so many ways, and shiver, and feel fear and pain. Thank you for writing this

"...I with nothing, would give my all To comfort any anyone in pain..." This simply but powerfully reminds us that generosity depends more on the size of our hearts than on that of our pockets. "...I wrap myself in old newspaper..." If I think of the things I normally wrap in old newspaper, it makes me sad that a human could be brought to this level of want. A competent and touching composition!

Human suffering has become so widespread that hearts have become immune to it. Your words are a plea to those who turn their face the other way and pretend not to notice. Very touching. // paul

I read this when you first posted, but didn't have my account login...your writes are moving you can easily make a reader feel sadness or humor in the turn of a line, you are the puppet master of your pen.

Powerful stuff Arthur! Strong phrasing and outstanding imagery. '...no one can steal my kindness,' all that is left for this person to cling to... tragic. Well done my friend. Best wishes, Keith

Great poem my friend! Best would have been to not let ISIS create so many homeless victims! But somebody cried, no we do not want to destroy ISIS , only contain it. GUESS WHO AND GUESS WHY MY FRIEND. Since those words, he made sure that ISIS grew! A7

It started out as random thoughts and ended up as the thoughts of a woman and small child. I am not even sure if this is two poems or one. Thanks Kelly.

Two poems with a message that seems to float above the paper, addressing both heart and soul. Both are very moving, heart felt poems. Emile. #7

Your words cry out for the ones ravaged by war -- may we hear this cry for help and work together to help all who are hurting.
