Midnight Wishes
Sixteen years was stamped in gold
upon her shoulders sevenfold
pale because of circumstance
and yet no one was at the dance
to spin the princess
'round and 'round
to buy her drinks from out of town
she cried and left to go back home
but no one had a telephone
to take the call
about the time
that she would be at forth and Vine
and so she didn't make the train
the one that left for rural Spain
as Halloween crept into sight
in late October on that night
she made a midnight wish of sorts
and walked into a teleport
that took her off to Disney world
and now she is a happy girl.
